In-House Processing Time: What Happens After You Place Your Order

When you place an order with us, your products are not pulled from a shelf or pre-made inventory.

Every order initiates a detailed, in-house process centered around fresh ingredient sourcing, small-batch preparation, and species-appropriate raw nutrition.

From sourcing meat and organs across the country to hand-trimming, preparing, and crafting each product, every step is completed specifically for your order.

Because of this, our processing time is 7–10 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays) and should be considered an estimate for in-house production, not a guaranteed delivery date.

This page outlines exactly what happens during that time—and why it is necessary to maintain the quality, freshness, and integrity of every product we make.

Step 1: Order Review & Production Planning

Once your order is placed, it is reviewed and organized into our weekly production schedule.

We produce over 100 individual products, including custom raw blends, and process over 1,000 pounds of meat per week. Each order contributes to the total volume we prepare, which directly determines how much product needs to be sourced and crafted.

At this stage, we:

  • Review all items in your order

  • Calculate ingredient requirements

  • Plan production based on total weekly demand

This ensures that every product is made specifically for the orders placed—not pre-made in advance.

Step 2: Sourcing Fresh Ingredients

We source high-quality meat, organs, and fish from multiple trusted suppliers across the country.

Our approach to sourcing is based entirely on demand:

  • Ingredients are ordered daily as needed

  • Additional volume is secured through standing weekly supplier orders

  • Some suppliers only ship on specific days, including Monday-only shipments

Because of this:

  • Certain ingredients may not arrive until later in the week

  • Production timelines are directly tied to supplier availability

This is a key reason why raw pet food production cannot be rushed.

Step 3: Fresh Delivery & Immediate Handling

When ingredients arrive:

  • They are immediately unpacked

  • Inspected for quality

  • Moved directly into production

We intentionally do not overstock or store excess inventory.
All ingredients are brought in fresh and used specifically for current orders.

This approach supports:

  • Maximum freshness

  • Nutrient integrity

  • Proper raw feeding standards

Step 4: Hand Preparation (No Commercial Equipment)

All products are prepared by a team of four, entirely by hand.

We do not use commercial processing equipment. This allows us to:

  • Maintain the natural structure of the ingredients

  • Avoid over-processing

  • Preserve nutritional value

During this stage:

  • Bones are cut fresh

  • Meat is hand-trimmed

  • Ingredients are carefully portioned

Each component is then allocated based on the product being made.

Step 5: Product Preparation by Type

Once prepped, ingredients are directed into specific product categories:

Raw Blends

Balanced, species-appropriate formulations using fresh meat, organs, and bone.

Air-Dried Treats

Meat is sliced and placed into controlled air-drying environments.

Dehydrated Products

Prepared and crafted for shelf stability while retaining nutrients.

Bone Broth

Slow-prepared to extract collagen, minerals, and amino acids.

We produce over 100 products, including custom formulations, so each batch is tailored to real-time demand.

Step 6: Processing Timelines (Why It Takes Time)

Each product requires its own processing duration:

  • Bone broth: approximately 3 days

  • Air-dried treats (the shack): 2–5 days

  • Other products: vary based on preparation and batch size

Products move through multiple stages:

  • Preparation

  • Processing

  • Monitoring

  • Final readiness

These timelines are essential to maintaining quality and cannot be shortened without compromising the final product.

Step 7: Continuous Production

While our official business days are Monday–Friday, production does not stop.

Over the weekend:

  • Air-dried products continue drying

  • Bone broth progresses through its stages

  • Products are monitored and rotated as needed

This ensures that every item continues moving forward, even outside standard business hours.

Step 8: Packaging Individual Products

Once products are fully prepared, they are packaged by hand:

  • Portioning into containers, bags, and bottles

  • Sealing and labeling each item

  • Preparing products for final order assembly

Each product is packaged specifically for your order—nothing is pre-packed or sitting in storage.

Step 9: Order Assembly & Shipping Preparation

After all items are complete:

  • Orders are assembled

  • Products are packed together

  • Insulation and cold protection are added

We then prepare shipments according to our schedule:

  • Orders ship Monday–Wednesday from Mesa, Arizona

  • East Coast orders ship Mondays only to avoid weekend transit delays

This ensures frozen products arrive safely and in optimal condition.

Processing Time Explained

Our in-house production time is an estimated 7–10 business days, not including weekends or holidays.

This timeframe accounts for:

  • Ingredient sourcing and supplier schedules

  • Delivery and receiving timelines

  • Hands-on preparation

  • Time needed to prepare each product

  • Packaging and order assembly

While we continue working behind the scenes on weekends, business days are used as the standard timeline for communication and expectations.

Why We Don’t Pre-Make Products

Unlike many commercial pet food companies:

  • We do not mass produce inventory

  • We do not store large quantities of finished products

  • We do not use high-speed processing equipment

Instead, we focus on:

  • Fresh, made-to-order raw pet food

  • Small-batch production

  • Ingredient integrity and quality control

Final Thoughts

Every order represents a full production cycle—from sourcing and preparation to finished products.

Everything is made to order, with the time and care it requires.
